House Music Competition

This year’s House Music Competition, adjudicated by Sam Orchard, Director of Music at the RGS was a fabulous occasion. Not only were we back in person with a live, appreciative audience, but each boy represented his house beautifully and received wonderful support from the school community. Congratulations to every boy who entered and to the finalists who performed with such confidence and musicianship. The results include all the solo and ensemble performance entries plus the all-important Scale-a Thon, for which boys had the added incentive of sponsorship to raise money for Seeds for Development and the DEC Ukraine Appeal – they had to play as many scales as possible to their teachers. Hundreds of scales were played! Well done boys and VMTS, thank you for listening to them!

Scale-a-Thon Results:

  • Lancaster Total = 361
  • Tudor Total = 262
  • Windsor Total = 456
  • York Total = 336
  • Grand Total = 1415

We are delighted that the amount of sponsorship pledged is a whopping £1650.40.

The donation to Seeds for Development was £445.60 and £1,204.80 donated direct to the DEC Ukraine appeal. Thank you so much for your generosity.
