Boys across RGS Prep have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations over the last few weeks. A big thank you to our wonderful caterers who have put on some fabulous Jubilee spreads. The celebrations began with the boys sitting for an assembly in the Union Jack formation wearing one of the three flag colours: red, white and blue to create the lovely photograph shown below.
For several weeks boys in Pre Prep have been using their gardening and artistic skills to create a fabulous Platinum Jubilee themed garden. The raised bed features repurposed crockery, drawings, cupcake cases for plant pots and a giant hand-crafted crown! It was then time to welcome the Guildford in Bloom judge to view the garden. The comments were very positive, and the boys were beaming with pride.
Pre prep also enjoyed a Royal lunch last Friday where the performance hall was transformed into a ‘street party’. The boys got to witness The Queen cut into the crown-shaped cake before enjoying a slice. The Queen also read some special mentions much to the boys’ excitement.
