Pre-Prep got into the celebratory spirit in their activities week, themed ‘A Right Royal Knees Up’. Various jubilee themed activities ran throughout the week culminating in our own Pre-Prep street party on Friday!
At the start of the week the nursery boys took part in a dancing through the ages workshop and performed their dance decade to the rest of the Pre-Prep. The boys had the opportunity to decorate a commemorative tile for the Jubilee. The value of collaboration was very apt, as the Shell boys enjoyed working with the girls from Tormead to create crowns and decorate biscuits. The collaboration continued when Shell spent time with their Year 2 buddies creating bunting for our Street Party and making pizzas for their lunch on the field.
Shell were blessed with the sunshine for their trip to the Watercress Line to experience a ride on a steam train. The boys were able to buy their own tickets before boarding the Schools Class Cheltenham train to Alton. The finale to the week was each house bringing fruit in their house colour to create a collaborative fruit salad which was eaten, along with an amazing cake at our Jubilee Street Party. The Queen even came to celebrate with us!
Year 1 boys had great fun taking part in a dance workshop on Monday. They made classic disco moves to some funky 1970s tunes! On Tuesday they enjoyed exploring aircrafts, buses and cars at Brooklands. The highlight was walking through Concorde. Year 2 boys went on an exciting trip to Gatton Park on Wednesday. They took part in a maths trail challenge to rescue the woodland creatures and also got to explore the pond creatures in an afternoon of pond dipping. Years 1 and 2 spent the rest of the week enjoying ‘A Right Royal Knees Up’.
