Our school is situated in the heart of the historic town of Guildford, a flourishing and vibrant place to live and work. The RGS Pre-Prep and Prep Schools are situated in a leafy residential area ten-minutes’ walk from the Senior School which is located at the top of the High Street.  Guildford, while being on the edge of the picturesque Surrey Hills, has excellent communications links by road and rail enabling boys and staff to commute with ease.

The RGS has its own salary scale and a competitive salary well above the national scale is offered to the successful applicant. A generous relocation package is also available for those living outside the area, including a mortgage subsidy scheme. Staff are encouraged to undertake regular training courses and CPD is well supported. The RGS has a proven track record of career progression, both internally in the School and promotion to other schools.

The RGS has a responsibility for, and commitment to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): The RGS welcomes applications for posts advertised irrespective of whether or not applicants have a formal teaching qualification. It is essential that applicants have an appropriate degree qualification in the subject they wish to teach; however, it is not vital that they have any formal teacher training. Once employed by the RGS on a permanent contract, the School will support those members of staff to whom it applies in gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through an appropriate Initial Teacher Training route.
