We are looking for a teacher with a passion for Computer Science to teach the subject at GCSE and A-level.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and be enthusiastic to share this in a classroom setting with boys from the first form (Yr 7) through to Upper Sixth. The successful candidate will also teach Mathematics.
The Computer Science department at the RGS is growing, and from September 2023 we will be offering the subject at A-level for the first time. There are currently 100 boys studying Computer Science GCSE with a high proportion opting to continue to A-level.
The Computer Science department has close links with the Mathematics department which is the largest at the RGS, currently with 20 members of staff. You would be joining a friendly, motivated team who take pride in their pupils’ achievements both in and outside of the classroom at events such as the Bebras Computational Thinking competition, the British Algorithmic Olympiad and the Perse Coding Challenge.
The Royal Grammar School has a responsibility for and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The person appointed to this post will be required to apply for an enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the DBS.
