The 200 Seconds competition, part of our Scholarship for All programme, gives our First and Second Form students the chance to showcase their presentation skills in 200 Seconds.
The inspiration for this year’s competition was the famous David Attenborough quote: “Nature is our biggest ally and our greatest inspiration”.
Following a first round in tutor groups and then semi-finals for each year group, the top contestants progressed to the final, which took place in front of a judging panel including the Head of Scholarship, Heads of Year and Head of Lower School. The standard of competition was fierce throughout, with the top spots being closely fought at all stages.
In the final itself, we were blown away by the quality of delivery by all of the presenters, as well as by the knowledge and passion with which they discussed issues inspired by Attenborough’s words, such as climate change and sustainability. Nonetheless, in the Second Form competition, Jason particularly impressed with his carefully-rehearsed, confident delivery and information-packed discussion.
In the First Form competition, Freddie stood out for his unique interpretation of the quote and detailed exploration of biomimicry in the field of technology. These two boys were crowned as well-deserved winners.
