The recent Design & Technology trip was an exciting fusion of education and hands-on learning that left a lasting impression on all Year 6 pupils. From the moment the boys stepped into the Tancia workshop, they were immediately captivated by the cutting-edge technology and the world of digital printing. The boys found watching the digital printers in action fascinating as they created vibrant and intricate marketing products . The boys were able to witness first-hand how design concepts come to life.
What made the experience even more memorable was the generosity of Tancia. The company provided the boys with individually named, laser-engraved metal water bottles, which they were able to watch being engraved live.
James, the Managing Director, and Helen, the Chief Operating Officer, were instrumental in guiding the boys through the activities and the tour of the facilities. They took the time to explain the intricacies of the cutting-edge technology used at Tancia, making the boys feel engaged and informed. One of the highlights of the day was an interactive quiz about the company, where the boys were able to test their knowledge and win prizes, adding an element of fun to the educational experience.
Another exciting component of the tour was the hands-on demonstration of the company’s creative processes. The boys had the opportunity to watch computer designs, ink and printing techniques come to life, giving them an in-depth understanding of the technology behind the products. The workshop also featured an exciting presentation session in Tancia’s media hub, where the boys acted as a live film and lighting crew, capturing their own Q&A sessions on camera.
