The Children’s Business Fair comes to Guildford
Our students proved to be excellent ambassadors for the RGS at the recent Children’s Business Fair (CBF) Pop Up in Guildford. The event was attended by ex-Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and his wife, successful businesswoman Akshata Murty, who spent considerable time engaging with each of the young entrepreneurs. They not only interacted with the students but also made purchases from their stalls, showing genuine interest in their innovative products and ideas. Rishi and Akshata were particularly impressed by the boys’ mindset and communication skills, highlighting how well they represented the School.
Celebrating National Numeracy Day
Rishi and Akshata’s visit coincided with the celebration of National Numeracy Day, which took place on Wednesday 21 May. This day is dedicated to promoting the importance of numeracy skills, and the involvement of such prominent figures added significant value to the event. The students’ participation in the fair showcased their ability to apply numeracy skills in real-world business scenarios, further emphasising the importance of these skills in everyday life.
Inspiring young people to make their ideas a reality
Sam Rogerson, the Founder of CBF, was full of praise for our students. He described them as “an inspiration to other young entrepreneurs and a true demonstration of what’s possible when young people are given the chance to lead, create, and shine!” His words reflect the impact our students had on the event and the positive impression they left on those attending.
A unique platform for entrepreneurs to excel
The Children’s Business Fair provided a unique platform for our students to display their entrepreneurial talents and creativity. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to gain practical experience in business, interact with customers, and receive valuable feedback. The event not only celebrated their achievements but also encouraged them to continue pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams. The fair was a resounding success, and our students’ participation was a testament to their hard work, dedication and, of course, the excellent education they receive at RGS Guildford.
