RGS Prep Sports Day 2025: Sport and Enjoyment for All

With warm weather, bright skies, and a gentle breeze, the excitement for this year’s Sports Day was hotting up!  Armed with hats and plenty of water, all of the boys enjoyed participating in a wide variety of races and activities.

The event was divided into three sets: Pre-Prep (Nursery to Year 2), Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6, ensuring that every pupil, aged 3-11, had the opportunity to showcase their talents along with a vocal and encouraging group of staff and parents who gathered to support the pupils in their efforts.

From agility and balance to speed and strength, the boys demonstrated their impressive skills in both individual and team events.  The Pre-Prep pupils delighted the audience with their enthusiasm and energy, participating in fun races and activities designed to develop their coordination and teamwork.  The Years 3 and 4 boys took on more challenging events, displaying their growing athletic abilities and a strong sense of fair play whilst the oldest year groups, Years 5 and 6, competed fiercely showing advanced skills and a deep understanding of the importance of perseverance and resilience.

Throughout the day, the boys embodied the school values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and resilience. They supported each other, cheered for their peers, and celebrated every achievement, big or small. The spirit of camaraderie and collaboration was evident from beginning to end, with everyone contributing to the vibrant and positive atmosphere.

In a close contest between all of the Houses with pupils in each demonstrating hard work, determination, and teamwork, special congratulations go to York House, who came out victorious.

The success of Sports Day was not just measured by the medals won, but by the joy, enthusiasm, and school spirit that filled the air and a cherished memory for all involved, highlighting the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.
