Class of 2024

Recognising all the accomplishments and successes of this special graduating class through enabling a new promising young boy to begin his own RGS education.

‘Class of …’ Bursary Programme

The RGS Bursary Programme offers means-tested support to bright local boys whose potential outstrips their financial capabilities. Our bursaries are funded by the School and the philanthropic support of the RGS community, but our ambition is to be a school defined by ability and not by privilege. There is so much more we can do with your help.

Our bursary boys have included a national sporting champion, a professionally recognised and published scientific author, our first choral scholar to the world-renowned Kings College Chapel Choir and an award-winning doctor who is establishing medical centres in Ethiopia.

The School supports 71 boys on bursaries ranging from 10% to 100%. Over half of these bursaries are life-changing in that they offer financial support of 80% and above.

In 2017, we launched the ‘Class of …’ initiative – a simple way for the families of the graduating Upper Sixth to hold open the door for another, through the creation of a new bursary named for their sons’ graduation class. Through the collective power of families making monthly or annual gifts over seven years, another bright local student would be able to take up their RGS place. In seven years’ time, we will ask the graduates of that Class to take over their family gifts.

Every year we ask a small group of parents from your year to help champion the ‘Class of …’ Bursary, spread the word and encourage others to join in.
