Years 1 & 2 £4875.00
Years 3 & 4 £5580.00
Years 5 & 6 £5760.00

 * The Surrey County Council early Years Free Entitlement offsets 3 hours per day for eligible pupils.

The fees are payable in advance on, or before, the first day of term and include the cost of most stationery and textbooks, games and school societies, but exclude a small number of items.

Any fees paid after the first day of term will be subject to late charges as specified in the Acceptance Form.

Individual music tuition is provided at an extra charge.

There are no sibling discounts.

The Governors reserve the right to review or alter fees at any time and at half-a-term’s notice.

The acceptance of a place is subject to the School’s Terms and Conditions, returning the signed Acceptance Form and paying the Acceptance Deposit, which equates to 25% of the first term’s fees. The deposit is non-refundable until the boy leaves the School, unless the offer of a place is withdrawn by the Governors in which case it will be refunded in full. Should the boy not take up the place offered for any other reason, the Acceptance Deposit will be forfeited.

A full term’s notice in writing is required before the removal or withdrawal of a boy prior to starting at the RGS, otherwise a full term’s fees will be payable.

Special Educational Needs

Special Educational Needs

The RGS adopts an inclusive policy and students with Special Educational Needs are offered the opportunity to join the School if they satisfy the School’s selection procedures.  Parents may be asked to contribute to any special resources.  Pupils with Special Educational Needs will have access to the whole school curriculum and be fully integrated into the School.  Exceptional circumstances, which may affect such access, will be dealt with on an individual basis in consultation with the Head of Learning Support, Head of Year, Deputy Heads, parents and the student himself.

Assistance With Fees

Assistance With Fees

A bursary (assistance with fees) to attend RGS Prep can offer a life-changing experience, providing students with the knowledge, the values and the skills to flourish at school and beyond.  With our exceptional pastoral care and mentoring schemes, and our culture of mutual support and respect, we are proud of our commitment to provide a secure and nurturing environment for boys from all walks of life.  Our vision is to realise the talent of future generations by providing an excellent education to boys of all backgrounds.  As a result, although entry is competitive, any parent who would like their son to come to RGS Prep should not be deterred from applying for financial reasons as bursary funding is offered to successful applicants on a means-tested basis.

Bursaries are available for those boys applying to join from Year 3.  There is no set number of bursary awards that may be made; the funds available will determine the number of awards granted.  The value of bursaries is set by strict criteria and is based upon financial need; these are rigorously means tested and reviewed each year.  Applications for bursaries should be made when applying for a place at the School and before your son’s assessment date.  All information is kept strictly confidential.

While the criteria for full and partial bursaries depends on a range of financial variables based on both parents’ income, allowable expenditure as specified in the bursary scheme, and assets, some illustrative examples of the level of support which may be offered are shown below:

  • Families with a net household income of less than £26,000 per annum, with limited assets, may be eligible to be considered for a full bursary, equivalent to 100% of fees.
  • Families with a net household income of £33,000 per annum, with limited assets, may be eligible to be considered for a bursary of up to 75% of fees.
  • Families with a net household income of £40,000 per annum, with limited assets, may be eligible to be considered for a bursary of up to 50% of fees.
  • Families with a net household income of £60,000 per annum, with limited assets, may be eligible to be considered for a bursary of up to 25% of fees.

Families with a net household income of in excess of £75,000 per annum are highly unlikely to qualify for bursary support.

Bursary forms must be submitted prior to the date of your son’s assessment and can be accessed here.

We welcome your questions and have staff dedicated to answering your questions and helping you to complete the forms.  The bursaries are administered by the Head of Finance and should you require any further information or help, please contact the Finance Team by emailing jar@rgsg.co.uk
