How do I gain Qualified Teacher Status?
There are two main pathways to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
- Salaried route: you will be employed, initially as an unqualified teacher, supported by an Initial Trainee Teacher (ITT) team and professional studies program. You will work to achieve QTS on successful completion of the program.
- Placement: you will receive a government funded bursary via the training provider, attending the SFET PGCE course one day a week and attend a series of placements in partner schools.
