Tom is a serving major in the Household Cavalry, with active service experience in Afghanistan, the Balkans, Iraq and across East Africa, and he was Prince Harry’s commanding officer during his deployment in Afghanistan. After completing post-graduate studies in Globalisation & Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, followed by the School of Advanced Military Studies at the United States Staff College in Fort Leavenworth. He has since held a number of strategy roles within the MoD and is a contributor to the Centre for Social Justice on the transition of service personnel to the civilian workplace and engages in creating economic and civil society relationships in areas of conflict and instability.
