What’s the best thing about the RGS? The boys – their good humour, friendliness, and their desire and determination to excel in all they put their minds to.

What excites you most about coming into work each day? Teaching boys who are co-operative, genial and who want to master your subject.

If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? An annual ski trip to a top resort.

What luxury would you have on a desert island? My golf clubs and plenty of golf balls.

What’s your favourite film and why? ZULU – portrays the indomitable spirit of my compatriots, makes a fellow Welshman very proud to watch it!

If you could change your name to anything, what would it be? Owain Glyndwr

Which actor/actress would you get to play you in a film of your life? Bruce Willis

What food will you absolutely not, under any circumstances, eat? Răcituri – a Romanian dish of pieces of pork in gelatine.

If you could be any cartoon character who would you be? Buzz Lightyear
