George Osborne
I’m currently studying Arabic and Japanese at the University of Leeds.
Three current interests/ hobbies of mine include: running (I am training for the Lisbon marathon in October), chess and football, both as spectator and player.
I have chosen to be a telethon caller so that I can share my passion for the school with parents and alumni who have the ability to help some less fortunate, bright young men join RGS. So then they can enjoy the same top quality education and formative experiences that I had the privilege to enjoy myself.
Parus Mehra
Hello, my name is Parus and I am a recent OG, part of the class of 2023. I am currently studying Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Leeds. Alongside my studies, I participate in a lot of performing arts, including musical theatre, dance and choreography. I am also passionate about aviation and travel. I have chosen to be a telethon caller because RGS provided me with an unforgettable experience with countless opportunities and I want to be able to be a part of the team that helps give this to others.
Stan Lawrence
I am currently in my final year of my music degree at the University of Manchester. I am really interested in performance and composition, especially jazz and experimental classical music. Outside of music, I really enjoy visual art, hiking, and philosophy. I chose to be a telethon caller because I want to connect with OGs and, as a previous bursary recipient myself, I am passionate about making the education that I had accessible for everyone.
Jack Fuller
I am currently studying MBioChem Biochemistry at the University of Bath. I am interested in Theatre, Music and Volunteering. I joined the Telethon Campaign to help raise money to offer the chance of the RGS education to less fortunate students and to gain valuable experience for my pursuit of professional placements in my third year at university.
Yazan Drury
I am currently studying biomedicine at St George’s University of London , with the aim of transferring into medicine. I am a part of the football society at my university. I am extremely pleased to be part of the 2024 RGS Telethon Campaign to help make a positive difference on the lives of aspiring students.
Hamish Dick
I’m an Accounting and Economics student at Oxford Brookes University and I love Cooking, Weightlifting and running. I once received a bursary to RGS and understand how life-changing that opportunity can be. I joined the campaign to help provide that same opportunity to other aspiring students.
Freddie Cliffe
I am currently in my third year studying Physics with Business Studies at Warwick University. I am part of the rugby and finance societies, enjoy watching football and F1, and love listening to RnB and hiphop! I chose to become a telethon caller primarily to give back to the school that helped shape me and give deserving students the opportunity to study at the RGS.

When did you join the RGS? 2017
What’s the best thing about the RGS? The students and their ability to both challenge and surprise me with their intelligence and ability to injure themselves in the most random of ways (my colleagues are great too)
What’s your life philosophy/motto in life? in the words of Atticus finch in my favourite book: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb in his skin and walk around in it.”
If you could choose one superhuman ability what would it be? For my job, x-ray vision would be great! In general, teleportation so I could go anywhere, anytime with no delay.
What would your theme song be? Smile by Nat king Cole.
Do you have any phobias? I dislike velvet, it’s texture puts my teeth on edge!
What’s the strangest thing in your fridge at the moment? Moths – my husband is a keen entomologist and conservationist so breeds moths to maintain certain species in the local area.
What would your autobiography be entitled? ‘Life with my brother – the best gift ever’
What is your favourite ice-cream flavour? I had the most amazing Nutella ice cream in Barcelona.
Which actor/actress would you get to play you in a film of your life? Emma Thompson!
What food will you absolutely not, under any circumstances, eat? Anything that’s still moving!
