When did you join the RGS? 2024

What’s the best thing about the RGS/coming into work each day? The moment when you see a pupil get excited or intrigued about the things that excite and intrigue you too.

What excites you about the School’s move to co-education? Lots of new ideas!

What experience do you have of teaching girls/co-ed? My Joint Schools’ Philosophy Society, ran alongside a colleague from GHS, as well as a brief but rewarding time at Guildford County School.

What’s your life philosophy/motto in life? You don’t become confident by chanting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are. Outwork your self-doubt.

If you could choose one superhuman ability, what would it be? Either indestructible hamstrings, or never needing to sleep.

What’s your favourite film and why? Whiplash or La La Land; there’s no better film music composer than Justin Hurwitz.

What animal best reflects your personality? Golden Retriever – I am excited about everything.

If you could be any cartoon character, who would you be? Baby Jack-Jack, from The Incredibles
