What’s the best thing about the RGS/coming into work each day? Students and colleagues who are full of curiosity and demonstrably thoughtful.

What excites you about the School’s move to co-education? Reflecting the world around us, and being able to share our lovely school with all young people regardless of sex.

What experience do you have of teaching girls/ co-ed? Prior to the RGS, I had only experienced co-ed teaching.

What’s your life philosophy/motto in life? You won’t know if you don’t try.

What luxury would you have on a desert island? A kindle (I don’t imagine a library is allowed).

If you could choose one superhuman ability what would it be? Mary Poppins-style finger clicking.

Where is the best place you’ve travelled to and why? Brazil – because my daughter was born there.

What’s your favourite film and why? The Graduate – looks beautiful, sounds wonderful, feels so uncomfortable.

What food will you absolutely not, under any circumstances, eat? A scotch egg.
