Posted: 1st March 2024

On February 10, the 2024 Oxbridge Chemistry Race unfolded at the campuses of Oxford and Cambridge, drawing participants from schools nationwide. The competition was fierce.

The challenge involved two-hour marathon of progressively demanding problems. Among the contenders, the RGS team, proudly named “MitoC8H11O2Ndria powerhouses of chemistry,” included the talents of Alexander, Freddie, Tom, Alex and Sam. The formula for dopamine was incorporated into the team’s name as it is about motivation and reward signalling.

The team navigated the intricate challenges, culminating in an impressive score of 140. Among the 99 competing teams, they secured a notable 8th place.
